STUDENT CONDUCT

  • No chewing gum, food or open containers are allowed in the dance studios.

  • Students may not leave class without permission from the instructor.

  • All students are expected to conduct themselves in a safe, courteous and responsible manner.

  • Students are expected to be polite to each other as well as to Rock School employees & guest faculty.

  • Any rude or aggressive behavior from students or parents will not be tolerated.

  • Any use of offensive language or harassment of Rock School employees will result in dismissal without refund.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE POLICY

The consumption and/or possession of alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited regardless of the student's age or age of the guest, also if you are of age and distribute alcohol to a minor. Violation of this policy may lead to immediate dismissal from The Rock School, as well as being reported to the proper authorities. If you are of age and distribute alcohol to a minor this will also lead to immediate dismissal from The School as well as being reported to the proper authorities.

The Rock School forbids the sale, possession, consumption or storage of illegal drugs or controlled substances (as defined under applicable federal and state laws). Any evidence of the above will result in immediate dismissal from The School. Violators will also be turned over to the proper authorities.

DISMISSAL

Every Rock School student is expected to behave in a disciplined, responsible and courteous manner when on school premises. Any consistently disruptive behavior will be reported to parents. Rude or aggressive behavior from students or parents will not be tolerated. Any use of offensive language, drugs, alcohol or tobacco products at The School will result in dismissal without refund. The School Directors reserve the right to suspend or expel any student, at any time, whose attitude, class attendance, work habits, payment record, overall conduct or physical fitness for dance training is judged unsatisfactory. The Rock School also reserves the right to dismiss any student who has a medical condition that puts him or her, or classmates and faculty, at risk. All tuition paid to The Rock School West on behalf of any discharged student is forfeited by the student.

PARENT CONDUCT

Parents are not to discipline a child that is not their own. Please report any problems to the School office immediately. Students and parents are expected to be polite to one another as well as Rock School employees. Any rude or aggressive behavior from students or parents will not be tolerated. DRESSING ROOM POLICY

It is recommended that no valuables be stored or left in the dressing room during a student's class. The Rock school is not responsible for any items lost or stolen from The Rock School premises. To maintain a healthy and sanitary environment, students may not leave food in the dressing room or leave dirty dance or street attire in the shelves.

CLASS OBSERVATION

Dance educators from outside The Rock School may individually request permission to observe classes at other times by contacting the school office at least 48 hours prior to the desired visit. Such special permission is granted a the discretion of The School Directors and Coordinators.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY (SCHOOL CLOSINGS)

The Rock School West USALLY follows the West Chester School District when determining to close The School due to inclement weather. These decisions are made for the safety of our students and teachers. For the most current information, please visit our website at www.therockschoolwest.org. You may also call The School no sooner than two hours prior to a scheduled class.

If classes must be cancelled, students are entitled to make-up their class on another day in the same level class, please see the office for more information. No deductions of tuition may be made for inclement weather. Students will receive KYW's school closing number during the fall term.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

It is a violation of local ordinance and safety hazard to stop at the curb in front of the studio in order to drop off children. For the safety of your child, please ensure that you do not leave the parking lot until you have seen them enter the front door of The School.

Parents, guardians and relatives of students are invited to view classes during Parent Observation Weeks.
